Google has developed Google Local search for mobile customers that combines directions, maps, and satellite imagery. Google Local for mobile devices helps you find local stores and businesses across town or across the country right from the comfort of your mobile handheld device.

The Google Local search allows you to locate your desired business’s anywhere, with the use of your handheld mobile phone.
Detailed directions: Whether you plan to walk or drive, your route is displayed on the map itself, together with step-by-step directions.
Integrated search results: Local business locations and contact information appear all in one place, integrated on your map.
Easily movable maps: Interactive, draggable maps let you zoom in or out, and move in all directions so you can orient yourself visually.
Satellite imagery: Get a bird’s eye view of your desired location.

Need help getting around town? Simply type or select a starting and destination address, and you can view your route and step-by-step directions directly on the map.
Getting Started and Installation
Google Local Search for Mobile will ask you a few questions about your phone, then let you know where to download the application using your phone’s web browser. You’ll also be able to send a text message to your phone with download information.
The installation process should start automatically once you’ve downloaded Google Local for mobile to your phone or handheld device.
To begin using Local for mobile, access your mobile phone’s list of downloads and/or applications and select “Google Local.” (Since Local for mobile requires mobile Internet access, your phone may ask you to confirm your Internet connection at startup.)
