Mobati Christmas Wishlist Day 5 - Apple iPod with Video
Christmas Wishlist Day 5 is evidence that we cannot live without music! The Apple iPod with Video has revolutionized the mp3 player. It not only plays song now! It plays video, photos, podcasts…..
The iPod video has been out for a while, but its still on our list. Who doesnt want an iPod video? This thing not only lets you listen to over 15,000 songs, and 25,000 photos, its got 150 hours of video capabilities!
This is the fifth generation for the iPod. It all started with a 5GB ipod over four years ago. Since then, the iPod has only gone up! Drastically adding cool features, and making it far more advanced than the so called competions. It is the mp3 player. No others can compare to the Apple iPod. The iPod has evolved from a simple, elegant, music player to a combination music player, voice recorder, and photo viewer, and now to a music, photo and video playback device.
Style
The Apple iPod is now considered an iconic brand. Revolutionizing the way we listen and carry mp3’s. Its sleek, slim case design, and traditional good looks carried over from all Apple designs has made this “the” mp3 player to have.
The iPod’s size is perfect. It is small and lightweight. It has the perfect weight and size to fit in any pocket, or in the palm of your hand with ease. The new screen and buttons on the current generation iPod make it much more usable and stylish.
iPod can display photos on a TV set using Apple’s AV Cable. They are remarkably clear, but too light, bringing up shadow detail and washing out highlights.
Functionality
The most significant and publicized new feature of the current iPod is video. iPod supports MPEG-4 and H.264 video at resolutions up to 320×240 - comparable to a VHS tape. Along with this new hardware come new products for sale at the iTunes Music Store. Music videos and television shows. Extremely great when travelling or just sitting on a bench in the mall while you’re significant other is Christmas shopping.
The new version of iTunes 6.0 adds video sync to the iPod, and the new iTunes Music Store video sales are a gret addition, and of great importance to progress this technology. Videos that are available on the iTunes store, are not of large file size, and do pixalate a bit when viewed on large resolution screens. But nonetheless, this will not compete with DVD sales in the market. These videos are for use on smaller screened devices.
iPod’s on-screen controls are extremely well designed for video. A white progress or volume bar appears when you use the click-wheel. It is subtly translucent, with a faint shadow to ensure it remains visible against bright video. In Apple’s best style, it’s simple, elegant and effective.
iPod’s largest-yet display also offers bright, sharp text, and crisp video.
When running a TV slideshow, iPod’s built-in display shows a thumbnail of the current slide, flanked by smaller thumbnails of the previous and next slide.
To extend battery life and reduce the risk of damage to its spinning drive, iPods buffer music in memory and spin the drive back down as soon as possible. Early iPods buffered music by the file, and when playing a song larger than available iPod memory, spun their drives continuously, quickly draining the battery. Apple eventually gave iPod smarter caching, so it could intelligently cache parts of very large files dramatically improving battery life. This pays off for video files. The new iPod boasts up to 20 hours of battery life, five hours more than before.
At under half an inch thin, the new 30 GB iPod takes up about 45 percent less room than the original iPod. Even the new 60 GB model is 10 percent thinner than the fourth-generation 20 GB iPod. More features in less space.
