Google’s phone to compete with Blackberry and iPhone

Rumors were sparking last year when there was talk of a Google phone coming out (the “Google Switch, Gphone”). Then we heard about Samsung teaming with the search giant to get the touchscreen development down. Now the news is out about the Gphone having Blackberry like features and available across multiple carriers instead of being locked down on one like Apple’s iPhone. There’s going to be a phone battle this summer for sure! When will Microsoft chime in on this?

Blackberry 8300 coming soon?

RIM released the pearl-esk Blackberry 8800 not too long ago to much fanfare, now there are rumors, and pictures of an 8300, codenamed Daytona, circulating. Will this be the long awaited Blackberry device that will be Wifi enabled? The rumored 8300 looks very much like a cross between the 8800 and the Pearl, with a trackball, camera, and giant screen.

People have been drooling at the idea of a proper new Blackberry to replace the 8700 for quite a while now. Spy shots were flown around online… Then the Blackberry 8800 was announced. So far there have been a lot of press pictures, but what about videos? Check this out, TechFresh has a video of the 8800 in action, complete with 320×240 TFT display, 1.3 Megapixel camera, microsSD card, and 64 MB of internal memory. Of course it also has bluetooth 2.0, EDGE and even a new media player. Mobile workers get ready, you’re about to be a little more productive.. or is that unproductive will all these goodies?
